Minilik Salsawi (ምንሊክ ሳልሳዊ) በኢትዮጵያ ኦሮሚያ ክልል የሚገኙ ነዋሪዎች በወያኔው አገዛዝ ላይ ያላቸውን ተቃውሞ በመቀጠል በዛሬው እለት በሃረርጌ ጉራዋ ወረዳ በተለያዩ ቀበሌዎች እንዲሁም በበደኦ እና በቦኬ ጣቆ ከተማ በዳሮ ላቡ ሳኪና ከተማ ተቃውሞ ሲሰማ ውሏል::በወለጋ አርሲ እና ሸዋ ከፍተኛ ውጥረት ነግሶ የዋለ ሲሆን የአግኣዚ ጦር ወታደሮች ነዋሪዎችን ሲያንገላቱ ሲያዋክቦ ተስተውሏል:: እንዲሁም በየከተማው ያሉ መምህራ እና የልማት ሰራተኞችን በወያኔ የደህንነት ሃይሎች እይታ ስር ሲከታተሉ የዋሉ ሲሆን ወያኔ እስካሁን በኦሮሚያ ክልል ያለውን የሕዝብ ተቃውሞ መቆጣጠር እንዳልቻለ እየታየ ይገኛል::

ከዚሁ ጋር በተያያዘ ዜና በየአከባቢው ለግድያ እና አፈሳ የተመደቡ የአግኣዚ ወታደሮች ኢላማቸው በክልሉ ፖሊሶች ላይ በማድረግ በምእራብ ወለጋ መንዲ ከተማ ውስጥ በአጋዚ ወታደር አደም ጫላ የተባለ አንድ ፖሊስ የተገደለ ሲሆን ሌላ ፖሊስ ደግሞ ቆስሎ ሆስፒታል ይገኛል ።የአግኣዚ ጦር በተሰጠው መመሪያ መሰረት በልማት ሰራተኞች በመምህራን እና በክልሉ ፖሊሶች ላይ የጭካኔ እርምጃ መውሰድ ቀጥሏል::

የማንነት ጥያቄ ደግሞ ከአሰፋፈርና ከመሬት ይዞታ ጋር በጥብቅ የተሣሰረ ነው። ይህ ጉዳይ በክልሎች ቅርፅና ይዘት ላይ ተፅዕኖ ማሳደሩ አይቀርም። ይህ ምናልባት የማንነት ጥያቄ በሚነሣሳባቸው አካባቢዎች ሁሉ የሚያጋጥም ላይሆን ይችላል።

ወደ ሰሜን ኢትዮጵያ አቅንተን የወልቃይትን ሕዝብ የማንነት ጥያቄ በተመለከተ በየጊዜው ስንዘግብ ቆይተናል።

በወልቃይት አማርኛ ተናጋሪው ሕዝብ፤ አስተዳደሩ ከፍላጎታችን ውጭ ወደ ትግራይ ጠቅልሎናል ሲል ተቃውሞ ካቀረበ ሰነባብቷል።

ቅሬታውንም ለፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት የሚያቀርብ ኮሚቴ አቋቁሞ አባላቱ አዲስ አበባ ከመድረሳቸው በፊትና ከደረሱም በኋላ እየተዋከቡ መሆናቸውን አስታውቋል።

አሁንም ከፍተኛ የባህልና የሥነ-ልቦና ተፅዕኖ እያደረሱብን ነው ሲሉ ያካባቢው ነዋሪዎች ይናገራሉ።

በቀዳማዊ ኃይለሥሌ ዘመነ-መንግሥት ለብዙ ዓመታት የጠቅላይ ግዛቱ ገዥ የነበሩትን ልዑል ራስ መንገሻ ሥዩምንም ይዘናል።

ትዝታ በላቸው በዚህ ጉዳይ ዙሪያ ሁለት የወልቃይት አዛውንት አነጋግራለች። የመጀመሪያው አቶ ላቀው አንዳርጌ ይባላሉ።

ከ1966 ዓ.ም. በፊት የትግራይ ጠቅላይ ገዥ የነበሩትን ልዑል ራስ መንገሻ ሥዩምን መለስካቸው አምሃ አነጋግሯቸዋል። ሙሉውን ዝርዝር ለማዳመጥ፣ ከዚህ በታች ያለውን የድምጽ ፋይል ይጫኑ።

Ethiopia at the Eleventh Hour of Peaceful Change

Logically, one would hope that the Oromo uprising and the undeniable general discontent and frustration in the country call for a serious movement toward a reformist dissent within the TPLF and perhaps the army. In whichever way the present situation is analyzed, it cannot avoid the conclusion that the path so far followed is an impasse and that a change of course is a must. In case some TPLFites are confused about the situation, I remind them that the new occurrence is that the Oromo people have finally overcome their fear. History repeatedly shows that people who have defeated fear cannot be stopped, with the added fact that the recovery of courage is a contagious phenomenon. Such a movement can be temporarily blocked, but it cannot be crushed.

I am not talking about reform because I hope that the TPLF can become democratic and more committed to a policy that protects the interests of Ethiopia and its peoples. That ship has sailed a long time ago. Rather, I expect the TPLF to think of its own interests in a consistently selfish manner, which selfishness points out that the best bet in the mounting uncertainties is to admit, albeit reluctantly, the necessity of reform.

Reason advises the following: lose absolute power to keep some of it! Indeed, the situation contains two choices and two choices only. Either you think that you can protect your interests by pursuing the path of absolute power and repression and run the risk of losing everything by generating a situation of generalized uprising, itself made inevitable by the refusal to concede anything, or you make concessions aimed at sharing power, and you compensate your loss with security and assurance that your interests will be protected. In other words, lose a bit to safeguard what is important, or keep the exclusive control of power and face the danger of losing everything.

Again, be voraciously avid, think only of your interests, and the logic of greed will show you the right way, that is, the way that has a future and provides guarantee. By contrast, the ill option of blind bravado and repression inspired by arrogance and short-sightedness is actually a disguised fear that can only lead to a lose-lose situation for everybody. Make no mistake about it: nobody will win by triggering a civil war in Ethiopia. What awaits us all is a situation comparable to Syria or Libya. Your stubbornness does no more than activate all the ingredients of terrible conflicts that favor nobody.

I understand that some members of the ruling political class are quite aware of the severe shortcomings and dangers of their present policy. That is why we hear them talk here and there of the need for good governance. Unfortunately, to frame the problem in this term is to engage in the path of illusion and postponement. There is no good governance without power sharing and accountability. What you need is not some administrative measures; what you need is political reforms, for the latter are necessary even to apply administrative decisions. And by power sharing I means nothing but the formation of a transitional government representative of all political parties whose main working motto would be the forging of concessions necessary to move forward.

A piece of history lesson: as a rule, history shows that successful and lasting social changes have been initiated and implemented by elites with reformist agendas. The prospect of losing power as a result of a social uprising, guerrilla insurgencies, or war against a more powerful country has led them to see in reforms the best way to stay in power and protect their interests. The other related positive outcome was that their decision to reform avoided wrecking their societies by radical measures and favored a progressive, step by step advancement.

Opposed to this progressive course are movements led by disgruntled and aspiring elites, usually called revolutions, and whose main characteristic is that societies must be put upside down for these elites to find a new legitimacy and model their county in accordance with their sectarian interests. Unsurprisingly, such movements end in dictatorial and often partisan rule, by which alone societies can be made conformable to exclusive elites. While established ruling elites reform societies by opening up and welcoming new strata of people, revolutionary elites have to exclude and close up in order to establish their power. In other words, while the one moves toward the opening of the system to receive newcomers, the other is the newcomer that has to exclude to establish itself.

Ethiopia is the perfect illustration of the destructive process cause by new comers. Because Haile Selassie’s regime was totally unresponsive to repeated calls for reforms, it was wiped out by a revolutionary movement that ended by instituting the dictatorial rule of a military elite inspired by the sectarian ideology of Leninism. Its own reluctance to reform in the face of military defeats and economic failures strengthened guerrilla insurgencies that resulted in its overthrow. Unsurprisingly, instead of following the path of reform by opening the power system, the new comers closed it even more through an ethnic system of selection favoring a policy of divide-and-rule, by which alone the narrow elite claiming to represent Tigrean interests could have the exclusive control of power.

Both the Oromo uprising and the deep discontent of the country clearly demonstrate the failure of the sectarian system established by the TPLF. The moment of decision has come: is the TPLF committed to making the same mistake as Haile Selassie and Mengistu Haile Mariam or will it finally realize that the system is untenable and that reforms are, willy-nilly, necessary for its own survival?  Of course, it is never expected that all those who are influential in the decision-making of the TPLF will admit the necessity of reform. Rather, the question is whether those who are aware of the need can prevail over the conservatives.

I admit my pessimism, but with a touch of uncertainty inspired by the long and almost miraculous survival of Ethiopia against all odds, in particular by its power to resurrect each time it faces existential threat. Indeed, nothing applies better to Ethiopia than what the poet Holderlin said: “Where the danger grows, there also grows the power of salvation.” To give some examples from recent history, when the Era of the Princes threatened the very existence of Ethiopia, there rose Tewodros; when colonialism encircled and threated to draw Ethiopia into the scramble for Africa, there rose Yohannes and Menelik. Will the endurance continue so that it will be said when ethnic exclusion threatened, there rose . . . ?

(ESAT News) — The council of Abba Gada, an assembly of revered Oromo traditional leaders has passed an extraordinary resolution denouncing the arbitrary killings of the Oromo youth and warned the minority government against such senseless and brutal acts, according to a report by the Oromo Media Network (OMN).

The Abba Gadas, who represent all the localities in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, and who have gathered for a two today’s deliberation on the issue, said the demands by the people were legitimate. They have also said they were on the side of the people of Oromia in their struggle for political and economic rights, according to OMN.

Agazi forces of the tyrannical government in Ethiopia meanwhile continue to unleash deadly force against protesters in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Despite warnings by the Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, who said on Tuesday that his forces have been instructed to take a “once and for all” measure, protests continue all week all over the Oromia region as Agazi forces killed and wounded several protesters, according to social media posts.

The Prime Minister blamed the protests on the “forces of destruction,” a customary reference to opposition political groups abroad and neighboring Eritrea. Reports by human rights groups and the media show protesters were peacefully demanding political and economic rights; the Prime Minister, however, accused protesters are bent on removing his government by force.

Human Rights Watch and other rights group estimate over 200 people were killed in the three month protest. Oromo media and local sources fear the figure could be much higher. It is extremely difficult to put an exact figure on the number of deaths and injuries as the areas of the protest are off limits to journalists and rights activists, according to critics.

The puppet prime Minister of Ethiopia Hayilamariam Dasalagni coming out on national television vowed to crash the Oromo people , Who have been peacefully demonstrating against the TPLF regimes brutality against the Oromo people.

The TPLF’s Regime that controlled state power in Ethiopia since 1991 has been committing atrocious crime on Oromo People. The TPLF has indiscriminately killed peaceful Oromo protesters everywhere throughout Oromia including in their dwelling places.

For the last four months, the TPLF Regime has murdered over 300 peaceful protesters throughout Oromo land. It has detained and arrested thousands, and thousands whereabouts are unknown. Indiscriminate killing of one particular ethnic group or people is crime against humanity. The TPLF’s indiscriminate killing of Oromo children, students, workers, women & even pregnant women constitutes crime against humanity. Thus, the TPLF’s Regime will be responsible for the crimes against humanity it has been committing against Oromo people.

On the other, despite indiscriminate and egregious killing to terrorize them, the Oromo people have continued their struggle for freedom and justice. The OLF applauds the heroic deeds the Oromo sons and daughters have showed to the world by peacefully demanding their people’s rights.

The atrocities that have been committed against peaceful protesters shows the TPLF’s predatory nature in which it has stayed in power for the last twenty -four years by killing anyone who dares to demand for his or her right in the country. Despite heinous crime the TPLF’s Regime has been committing using lethal force against innocents people, the heroic deeds of Oromo people shows their determination to regains their Godgiven unalienable rights whatever scarifies they may pay for their freedom .

The TPLF declaration of war and an act of terrorism perpetrated against Oromo people shows the TPLF’s deep haltered to the Oromo people. All Oromo irrespective of their ages have become the target of the TPLF special army called Agazy. The Agazy army armed to its teeth have been killing the Oromo people by the order of TPLF leaders. The Oromo people have to do everything to remove this predatory colonial regime from power once and for all to live in peace, security and prosperity.

The OLF strongly condemns the TPLF’s declaration of war on Oromo people and its continuous mass arrests, torture and killings perpetrated on the Oromo people by the terrorist TPLF regime. And demand International Criminal Courts to investigative and identify those who participated on the killings and those who gave the orders to bring to justice.

The OLF also calls on all Ethiopians to stand together shoulder to shoulder with Oromo people in dismantling the predatory TPLF regime. The Oromo’s quest for freedom & justice should be supported by all peace loving people in Ethiopia and elsewhere in the world.

The saga of the Gondar regions of Humera, Welkaite Tegede and Telemt extended in to other parts of Ethiopia

More revelations as to how TPLF raised from ordinary banditry and cattle raiders to the pinnacle of power

Yesterday, I was listening an interview ESAT made with a Gondare person from Welkaite Tegede who survived the savage attacks of TPLF and lived in Australia. I will put few of the points he presented during the long interview which you can hear it for your selves.

1. They learned Tigrigna from the people of Tigray and Eritrea who used to come to their places to work on seasonal basis but always went back to Tigray as a means of trade, not as a mother tong, which is Amharic.

2. The relief organization of Tigray run by TPLF which now is the sole Ethnic but financial giant in Ethiopia, accumulated wealth from raiding cattle and taking animals from the people of Welkaite Tegede or collected as punishments from them because of anti TPLF activities of individuals and neighborhoods and selling them for markets in Sudan and in local markets.

3. He outlined the TPLF settlement programs for the people of Tigray to Gondar regions of Humera, Welkaite Tegede and Telemt. TPLF settled several thousands of people of only Tigray origin, who were living in Sudan due to wars and drought, to different parts of Welkaite Tegede, Telemt and Humera and in subsequent years right after it entered Addis Ababa, as a policy, settled people of Tigray in to different parts of the region in batches, with 25 thousand people of each batch. TPLF gave lands of the region to several thousands of members of TPLF fighters who were retired and victims of decades of wars and others as investment. Since then TPLF setteled about 700, 000 to a million people from Tigray to Gondar regions of Welkaite Tegede, Humera and Telemt.

All these settlement programs were financed by the money and resources from Ethiopia, not only offering free lands, but giving them resources as well in order they established very well, which today the natural population of the region are treated second class citizens in all aspects of life, where their language is banned from their lands and forced to learn Tigrigna or leave the places. The person offered anecdotal accounts as to how TPLF started as a bandit to sneak in to their area at around 1980, and first as a necessary measure of future stability to their take away of the lands, they hunted down prominent personalities and elder people and eliminate one by one, by direct killing, ambush in the night and elimination with no traces and terrorizing the people in to submit ion. The story of TPLF and its actions sounded similar to that of Mussolini’s general Graziani, who was known for his savagery and inhumane killings of Ethiopians in order to make them submit to his colonization efforts.

TPLF was massacring the people of Welkaite Tegede in broad day light and gave orders not to take corpses from the places they were massacred and left, and any person who attempted to take and bury them would be executed as well. One time TPLF killed people and left them on the street and two priests were shocked to see that and said, “this is anti God and against the teachings of Jesus, not to be able to burry someone who is dead by any cause “ and buried them and later the two priests were executed by TPLF. The individual presented in several pages of papers, names of hundreds and hundreds of people who were killed, ambushed during darkness and whose whereabouts were not known until. The savage behavior we witnessed from TPLF as a lasting military strategy to take away the lands of Gondar, is that they do not keep people of those areas as prisoners, because they knew that, as long as they live, first they give hopes to the people and keep resisting their take away of their lands and second, they will be the future problems and dangers to them.

4. The last important thing the person mentioned is that TPLF purposely renamed places of local and historical values to Tigrigna names to make sure that no future generation reclaims the area as theirs. It is after these unbelievable crimes of a primitive type, and after TPLF changed the region in to residential places for the Tigray people by force, kicking the people of the region out, that they showed a demonstration of settled people of Tigray, saying, the people of Welkaite Tegede, Humera and Telemt came out and said they are Tigre people and the region is part of Tigray – the TPLF style of truth. The acts of the Tigray TPLF in a primitive style, as being non Ethiopian, but lived as a neighbor making a living by working from neighboring areas, but as a distant enemy and invader is beyond imagination.

This is the microcosm of the evolutionary history of TPLF how it began and continues to live more vigorously and boldly with absolute power of guns, to take anything in Ethiopia, as long as it is needed for their only existence, not being as Ethiopian but as an outsider, which ultimately faces open opposition and revolt to the extent of willing to die and get rid of it. It is an absolute necessity of existence and a belated but social imperative, to all Ethiopians, regardless of regions, religion, age, profession and gender, to be united and remove this cancerous short sighted ethnic animal group from Ethiopia in order Ethiopians live in harmony and happiness ever after in their own country. There is no more death than to fear death but die in abuse and fear continuously.

N.B. Right after I wrote this article, I heard VOA interviewing elders form Gondar regions of Humera Welkaite Tegede and Telemt and a real Ethiopian from Tigray, the Govener of Tigray teqlay gizat during emperor Haile Selassie, Ras Megesha Seyum. They all said, including Ras Mengesha him slef that there was no time in the history of Ethiopia, that Humera, Welkaite Tegede and Telemt were administered under Tigray, but always and natural part of Begemedir teqlay gizat or now Gondar. These elders of age more than 80 years, who are natives of that region and Ras Mengesha seyum said that, what was true is that Tigray and Gondar lived brotherly as neighbors separated by the Tekeze river as a natural boundary between the two regions.

መቶ አለቃ አብዮት ማንጉዳይ ከባልደረባው መቶ አለቃ በኃይሉ ገብሬ ጋር በመሆን ሰኔ 2 1997 ዓ.ም ኤም.አይ 35 ተዋጊ ሄሊኮፕተር በመያዝ የህወሓትን አገዛዝ ተቃውሞ ጅቡቲ ገብቷል፡፡
በ1997 ዓ.ም የተካሄደውን ምርጫ ውጤት መጭበርበር በመቃወም ለሰልፍ አደባባይ የወጡ ኢትዮጵያዊያንን እንዲደበድብ ትዕዛዝ በመሰጠቱ ነበር ይህን እርምጃ የወሰደው፡፡ 
መቶ አለቃ አብዮት ከባልደረባው በኃይሉ ገብሬ ጋር በጅቡቲ መንግስት ነበር ለህወሓት ተላልፈው የተሰጡት፡፡ ከዚያም ለሦስት ዓመታት ያለምንም ፍርድ በስውር ቦታ ጨለማ ክፍል ውስጥ ታስረው ሰቆቃ እየተፈፀመባቸው ቆዩ… ቀጥሎም መቶ አለቃ አብዮት 15 ዓመት እና መቶ አለቃ በኃይሉ ደግሞ እድሜ ይፍታሽ እስር ተበየነባቸው፡፡
በመጨረሻም መቶ አለቃ አብዮት ማንጉዳይ አራቱን አመታት በዝዋይ እስር ቤት ሦስቱን ዓመታት ደግሞ በቃሊቲ ወህኒ ባጠቃላይ አስር የመከራ ጊዜያትን አሳልፎ ለመፈታት ቻለ፡፡ አብዮት እንደተፈታም ብዙ ሳይቆይ ወደ ኤርትራ በረሃ ወርዶ አርበኞች ግንቦት 7ን ተቀላቅሏል፡፡

ወያኔ የመከላከያ ሰራዊት አባላትን የፖሊስ ልብስ እያለበሰ በማሰማራት ላይ ነው።

ኢሳት ዜና :- በአገሪቱ በተለያዩ አቅጣጫዎች የሚካሄደውን ህዝባዊ እንቢተኝነት ተከትሎ የፖሊስ እጥረት በማጋጠሙ፣ መንግስት ስልጠናቸውን ያላጠናቀቁትን ከማሰልጠኛ በማውጣት ከማሰማራት በተጨምሪ፣ የመከላከያ ሰራዊት አባላትን የፖሊስ ልብስ እያለበሰ በማሰማራት ላይ ነው።
አብዛኛው የፌደራል ፖሊስ አባላት በኦሮምያ የተሰማሩ ሲሆን፣ በጋምቤላ እና በአማራ ቁጥራቸው ቀላል የማይባል የፖሊስ አባላትም ተሰማርተዋል። በክልሎች የሚታየው ግጭት ከጊዜ ወደ ጊዜ እየጨመረ በመምጣቱ፣ መንግስት የመከላከያ አባላትን በፖሊስ ዩኒፎርም እያሰማራ ከመገኘቱም በላይ ስልጠናቸውን ያልጨረሱ ፖሊሶች ሳይቀር ወደ ክልሎች እየዘመቱ ነው። በዚህም የተነሳ የመንግስት ተቋማትን የሚጠብቁ ፖሊሶች ቁጥር በማነሱ፣ ብዙዎቹ ፖሊሶች 24 ሰአታት ያለ እረፍት እንዲሰሩ ተደርጓል። አንድ የፌደራል ፖሊስ አባል፣ “አሁን ያለንበት ሁኔታ በ97 ከነበረው ጋር ሲተያይ የከፋ እንጅ የተሻለ አይደለም” ብሏል። ፖሊሶች እረፍት የሚባል ነገር ሊያገኙ ባለመቻላቸው እንዲሁም ከህዝቡ ጋር መጋጨታቸውና በየጊዜው የሚደርስባቸው ውግዘት እየከበዳቸው ጥለው የሚጠፉ ፖሊሶች መብዛታቸው ችግሩን ይበልጥ አሳሳቢ እንዳደረገውም ፖሊሱ ተናግሯል።
